This was very interesting, I agree with this article being I am a nursing school student. In my last apartment I sat at the kitchen table simply because my bedroom was too small for a computer desk and chair. I now have a bigger room in my new apartment and I find that I get more school work done because my computer chair is high back and more comfortable. Sitting at a wooden dining table set after about an hour isn’t as comfortable and my back began to hurt. With the better and more comfortable computer chair that I have, I find that my days are more productive in regards to getting computer and desk work completed.
- Making do with any old chair, whether it actually fits you, or your desk, is counterproductive, as you will probably find yourself avoiding desk work.
- For example, if you are tall, it is a good idea to select a high chair that will encompass your entire back, neck and shoulders.
- Particularly, in the case of free-lancers and home-workers, picking a chair that will help you remain in a comfortable, yet erect, posture is essential.
“It might seem small, but having used this chair almost every day for the past eight months has made a big difference.”
