Despite stress on the job and feeling burned out at times, there are ways to remain productive. Nothing is better for you than getting a good night’s sleep. Do whatever works best for you first thing in the morning, whether it be meditation, stretching, listening to music. Focus on tasks that are high priority when you are at your mental best. Create a schedule, but allow for adjustments as situations arise. Prepare for the week ahead on Sunday night by reading emails, preparing you schedule, etc. Create to-do lists and cross off things as they get done. Make sure to take walks, do yoga or have dinner with friends for “me” time.
- Often it is thought that working into the late hours of the night can help us be more productive but this can be counterproductive. Proper sleep helps keep your mind and body in working order.
- There is usually a certain time of day that you are most productive. You should try to pinpoint that time and try to use during it focusing only on your most important tasks.
- Schedule your day, you will save time by knowing what to work on next. Also make a to do list will help you remember everything and feel accomplished even when your schedule didn’t work out.
“It seems counterintuitive, but having time to relax is just as important as getting things done when it comes to productivity.”
